lighters and blood red lips

it's been unbelievably gorgeous outside for the past three days and i took full advantage. everyday after school i've been reading and writing on my bench by the large fountain in my apartment complex. yesterday, while i was observing the people passing by, i noticed this old man sitting a couple feet away from me. he seemed very familiar and so i decided to walk on over and get a closer look. turns out it was mr. gary lighter!!! i met gary in october when i was out and about taking pictures. he came over to me and asked what kind of camera i was shooting with. i was working with a nikon d60 and we began talking about different cameras and settings. turns out mr. gary lighter here used to be a photography and art professor at sva. look at that. he taught me some really cool settings that i still use today. i took a picture of gary that day and havent seen him since...until yesterday!!! he didnt really remember me (since he's old and all) but i reminded him and it clicked. we began talking about school, work, hobbies (fyi: gary's a hardcore chess players), and a bunch of random things. it's funny, out of the hundreds of residents living in my neighborhood, i manage to meet a very intellectual and wise man that surprisingly has impacted my life in some way. kinda like another grandpa. oh wise gary, when shall i see you again?

since i had no class today, i woke up in a terrific mood. i mean i felt GOOD, really good. and so as i took a stroll down to starbucks for some morning coffee i have this stupid grin on my face like i'm the shit. can you believe that?! but that's how great i felt. i sat out in the park for a good hour and just took in as much sun as i could. the thought "maybe i'll see gary again" popped in my head once or twice. but sadly, i did not see my lighter man. oh well, i had to get ready for nylon. i've been interning there for about five months now and somehow they still want me around and i'm not complaining, ya dig. as i'm getting ready i decided to put on some serious red lipstick. i'm talking bloodlust lips. the only time i've EVER worn red lipstick was for halloween. and today was no halloween but i said "fuck it" and layed that baby on. you know i'm having a good day when i have blood red lipstick on.

i neeeeed those jeffrey campbell shoes!!! they would go perfect with those sick metal-plated acne jeans. i'd feel like rihanna for a day. chris brown wouldn't even THINK of messing with me.

long overdue

ok so i'm surprised i haven't posted anything about this but how about that US vs Canada game?!?!?! it was incredibly intense, especially since Canada is pretty much sick at hockey and most nhl players are breed there. i was rooting for US, not just because everyone favors this country and believes we're the best at everything but because i wanted Canada to get their asses kicked. uhhh Zach Parise is a god on ice and HOT, i mean really really incredibly good looking. and so after he scored that much needed goal, it evened up the game 2-2 forcing it into OT. intense, i know. however, the Canadians had motherfucking Sidney Crosby. who i believe may be the next Wayne Gretzky (i won't go into that right now). the clash of the titans was on and unfortunately Crosby scored the winning goal giving Canada the gold medal. it was sooo upsetting but a remarkable game nonetheless.

the time has come
